Good afternoon, Curtis.
Bill Spohn and Simon Austin have been prompting me to add my
projects to your outstanding register of modified British cars.
Starting about 10 years ago, when I bought a very rough and
incomplete MGA TwinCam, it struck me that I’d like a Classic with a modern
drivetrain. As I didn’t have any of the Twin Cam parts, I spent time in
wrecking yards looking for likely powerplants and struck upon the Miata…inline
4, rear drive, similar displacement, modern specs and small in
dimensions…I decided on a 1996 from a fresh wreck with low mileage and two years
later, I had my modified MGA.
My brother fell in love with the car and convinced me to
convert his 1980 MGB about 5 years ago.
And just this month, I completed my 1972 MGB GT with the 2001
Miata drive train installed.
Attached is the GT story.
As I’m goofing off at work, and don’t have any photos of the MGA here, I’ll just
stick with the GT for now and submit the other two at a later
date.
If the photos aren’t adequate or some of the words are
missing, let me know.
System limitations prevented me from attaching all of the
photos, so look for another note.

Ed
