Performane data
The high final drive ratio keeps this car from reaching it's potntial. With that said it still streaks to the redline or rev limit (it's set for 7500) and handles more like an Alfa GTV than an MGB GT. Light and balanced are the best words to discribe the drive feel.
Other impotant info  (unusual features / istorical notes / comments / tips / problems encountered during or after completion)
I chose this engine trans for it's compact size and light weight not to mention it's stellar performance reputation. This engine family is still used as the base for the Formula Atlantic cars. When I started this project gas was $4 a gallon so economy was a consideration as well. As small as it is it is still a VERY tight fit but I still managed to retain the stock heater system and made no mods to the engine bay. Since I didn't use the fuel injection I didnt need to alter the wiring just add some for the crank fire ignition and Toyota starter (on the far side)
The Toyota temp and oil senders works with the Smiths dash gauges. Can't say the same for the speedo will add a SW unit to match the tach. I chose to use a low mount turbo header to help with getting around the steering shaft, it's an off the shelf piece that was quite reasonable considering it's 304 stainless. I started in earnest in June and finished end of August That includes the engine swap as well as stripping three previous piant jobs to bare metal (exterior) and a quick repaint. Once the car is completely sorted out it will come completely apart for a proper painting and interior. For now I will enjoy tossing this zippy B thru the twisties
